Reading this story will break your heart. No one in the family can recite the story without breaking into tears. But here’s what happened:
In the early morning hours of April 16, 2012, the lives of Robert “Bob” and Rosemary “Rose” Cipriano and their family changed forever. Bob, a loving husband and devoted father of four children, was attacked and killed in his home. Rose and their 17 year old son, Salvatore “Sal”, were also severely beaten and critically injured. But for the courageous 911 call placed by their son Tanner (Sal’s twin brother), he and his 8 year old sister Isabella would have met the same fate. Tragically, the person responsible for these unspeakable crimes is Bob and Rose’s 19-year old son Tucker.
In the days that followed the community embraced our family with love and support while we worked our way through the many health, legal, and financial issues facing us with vigils, mass dedications, fundraisers, food, services and many more. This groundswell of community support grew beyond our imagination. It started when the Cipriano Support Group page on Facebook was created by Tanner’s friends to provide an immediate communication page for family and friends. That circle of family and friends has grown to over 5,000 members.
The Facebook page will continue to be a source of information and exchange where anyone can post comments, pictures, stories, wishes, and sympathies.
We do not intend to replace the Facebook page, we intend to use this site to post official family information where supporters can look for the most accurate up-to-date information on the well being of the family. It will be a central location for the many events and fundraisers, as well as providing individuals a place to make financial donations directly to the family by using the PayPal link on this website. All transactions will be handled securely through PayPal and the Cipriano family will be monitoring all donors and using its best efforts to respond to each and every person.
So, please, feel free to browse this site. Get to know the Ciprianos through the photo gallery (coming soon!); exchange your thoughts and prayers with friends and family on the Latest News page; read the amazing and moving eulogy offered by Tanner at Bob’s funeral; stay up to date on the Cipriano family with current and accurate information; offer financial assistance to the Cipriano Children’s Trust; and most of all continue to send your prayers and support for all who have been affected by this tragedy.
Rest assured, your prayers are working miracles. As the Cipriano and Trahan families move forward with love, understanding, and forgiveness, please know that words cannot adequately express the family’s love, appreciation and thankfulness for each and every one of you. In the words of Tanner – JKLP (Just Keep Loving People)! God Bless.
